So, last time out things were looking up, but it was time for a change of coilpack and plug leads. \u00a0Which should be straightforward, just go and buy one. \u00a0Simple enough. \u00a0Except, of course, you guessed it; not as simple as that. \u00a0Finding the coil pack was easy. \u00a0Not down to any great skill on my part, more to it having a part number. \u00a0A nice surprise was that buying it from my local car shop – Motorists’ Discount Centres<\/a> – where I get all my “everyday” car bits was actually cheaper than anywhere I found on the Internet (although I’d rather get bits from them anyway) at \u00a355 – less than the \u00a380 or so I’d \u00a0been quoted elsewhere.<\/p>\n

So, that was half the battle. \u00a0The other half wasn’t so easy. \u00a0Back in the day, you’d just go into any car shop and pick up the leads you needed; they had different lengths on the shelf. \u00a0Nowadays, that’s not the case; everything comes in sets. \u00a0And I didn’t know what would fit. \u00a0Thankfully another larger local store, SMC, was worth a trip; \u00a39.31 later, I had the leads I needed.<\/p>\n

Put them all together, and then on the car….<\/p>\n

All shiny and new. Not for long.<\/p><\/div>\n

Far too shiny! \u00a0However, the car fired up much more easily than before, so hopefully this will have the misfire sorted out; it was present with the old engine at rallyday as well, so I’m hoping that will be it… \u00a0I won’t have a chance to drive the car until Thursday, so I guess I’ll know then.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
