{"id":959,"date":"2010-02-09T18:22:48","date_gmt":"2010-02-09T17:22:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.com\/?p=959"},"modified":"2010-02-09T18:22:48","modified_gmt":"2010-02-09T17:22:48","slug":"bright-sparks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.fun\/?p=959","title":{"rendered":"Bright sparks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, last time out things were looking up, but it was time for a change of coilpack and plug leads. \u00a0Which should be straightforward, just go and buy one. \u00a0Simple enough. \u00a0Except, of course, you guessed it; not as simple as that. \u00a0Finding the coil pack was easy. \u00a0Not down to any great skill on my part, more to it having a part number. \u00a0A nice surprise was that buying it from my local car shop &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mdc-auto.co.uk\/\">Motorists&#8217; Discount Centres<\/a> &#8211; where I get all my &#8220;everyday&#8221; car bits was actually cheaper than anywhere I found on the Internet (although I&#8217;d rather get bits from them anyway) at \u00a355 &#8211; less than the \u00a380 or so I&#8217;d \u00a0been quoted elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>So, that was half the battle. \u00a0The other half wasn&#8217;t so easy. \u00a0Back in the day, you&#8217;d just go into any car shop and pick up the leads you needed; they had different lengths on the shelf. \u00a0Nowadays, that&#8217;s not the case; everything comes in sets. \u00a0And I didn&#8217;t know what would fit. \u00a0Thankfully another larger local store, SMC, was worth a trip; \u00a39.31 later, I had the leads I needed.<\/p>\n<p>Put them all together, and then on the car&#8230;.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_961\" style=\"width: 660px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/skoda-coil.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-961\" class=\"size-full wp-image-961\" title=\"skoda-coil\" src=\"http:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/skoda-coil.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/skoda-coil.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.skodarallyblog.fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/skoda-coil-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-961\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">All shiny and new.
