I’ve just realised that my earlier post was rather factual, and that I’d forgotten a number of things that happened during the day – probably ‘cos I was miserable at that point! \u00a0I’ve cleaned the car up today, so now feel a bit better. \u00a0Anyway, here are a few random things that happened.<\/p>\n
On SS2 (Wareham Main) there were some spectators crossing a 2R, a fair way off. \u00a0We beeped and they’d seen us, and most of them moved, sharpish. \u00a0However, there was one bloke who thought otherwise. \u00a0He wasn’t young – he looked about 50, and was wearing a sort of cowboy hat. \u00a0He was quite fat, and despite the others clearly signalling him to get out the way, he decided to do the opposite, and stand on the apex of the corner, sort of staring us out. \u00a0I didn’t back off. \u00a0I hope he has learned his lesson.<\/p>\n
I have managed to lose the fuel filler cap for the ridiculously expensive ATL fuel filler. \u00a0I say “ridiculously expensive” as I’ve just looked on the ‘net today and the whole assembly is about \u00a3150. Oh good. \u00a0I went back to where I thought I’d left it this morning, but to no avail. \u00a0Dammit.<\/p>\n
On the way back to service 3, we were pretty relaxed, and had plenty of time. \u00a0Being local and the route being the same, Paul didn’t have much to do. \u00a0So… he put the TV on. \u00a0He has a Sky mobile deal, so on the way back it was quite surreal having Jeff Stelling talking about the day’s football matches. \u00a0I know it’s not new technology, it was just weird and not something that I do when I’m out and about.<\/p>\n
When being towed out of SS11, we went past a number of groups of spectators. \u00a0Nearly all of them gave us a round of applause, and that really lifted my spirits. \u00a0It’s nice to see that people appreciate you putting on a show, even if it is on the end of a tow rope.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
